The Great Karnali Quest Fundraiser

Heyo, Riff Raft Racing here. We just won the USRA National Championship in Cañon City, Colorado this summer, making us the new US Men’s Open Rafting Team. Here's a writeup from a local newspaper about us: Post Independent Article. Now this isn't an Olympic sport, yet, but it qualifies us to represent the United States at the highest level of whitewater raft racing. So I guess that's pretty neat!

We’re scheduled to race in a couple other events this year stateside, and planning to compete in a 5-day, 248-kilometer race (the longest raft race in the world) on the Karnali River in Nepal this November 24th to 28th. It’s called the Great Karnali Quest and is focused on raising awareness about the river, which is the last free-flowing river in that region. More information about that event can be found here: The Great Karnali Quest.

We are in the process of fundraising for Nepal this fall, and are hoping to produce a short film about the race, region, and their great cause. We are required to have a team of six paddlers for the raft, as well as a safety kayaker for this expedition. Our goal is to raise $25,000 for this, to cover flights to Nepal, travel costs in-country, race entry fees, gear, food, and lodging. As you'd expect, the film production would add some to this budget. If you have a business that would be interested in sponsoring us in a larger way, please message us through Instagram.

I know this is a huge ask, and frankly, I'm not usually one to go around asking. The only reason we've gotten as far as we have is from the tremendous support from our community, that's you. If you'd like to support Team USA, we would gratefully and humbly accept your donations. Follow along on Instagram too! We can't thank you enough, and are excited to see where this wild ride takes us!

Thanks again,
