Nepal Earthquake Postpones the Great Karnali Quest

As the Nepal event drew nearer we heard of a large earthquake in the Karnali Region of Nepal. Not 24 hrs after we learned of a staggering death toll and destruction of the local area. In some places up to 90% of structures are now destroyed. Roads and logistics have been effected. It’s a terrible situation for the region and with many people morning their loved ones or still searching for their family the race has been called off for now.

This has many impacts for the race as many teams may not be able to reschedule and the economic impact of the event won’t be felt for a while in the region. We are also running out of time to generate awareness around the proposed dam project on this mighty river!

The event has been rescheduled for March 8th.

Thank you all for the support of the USA rafting team. Your energy and enthusiasm for this team is amazing and we are committed to continuing racing internationally! We are now looking forward to local races in Colorado throughout the spring and the World Rafting Championship in June 2024 (location TBD).
